Biomedical engineer, question about the biology in it

Hi, I am planning to change my major from microbiology to biomedical engineering, I am still in time to change before starting college, but I was wondering, how much biology is there in biomedE? I liked biology, that’s why I chose microbiology in the first place, but low job prospects and the many years needed to just land an stable position led me to this decision. I’ve heard about tissue engineering, is this more bio than the other concentrations as imaging or optics? Thanks

You should go to the college’s web site and look up the degree plan for the major, then take a look at the course descriptions for the required and elective courses for the major.

You will likely need typical introductory biology, general chemistry, and organic chemistry (as well as math and physics), followed by more specialized courses in your major.
