<p>The Birmingham Free Clinic is located in Southside, as southeastmom has stated. There is a transit bus (PAT Transit - Bus 48) that services the clinic neighborhood, but does not, unfortunately, go into Oakland, where Pitt is located. Access to the 48 bus would be from Downtown, and there are multiple bus routes that go between Oakland and Downtown. If you want to check on bus schedules/routes, here’s the PAT website where you can use the Trip Planner. (Incidentally, unlimited use of the PAT Transit system in included in the tuition at Pitt - wonderful benefit for Pitt students.):

<p>The various Pitt schools of health (especially Pharmacy, Medicine, and Public Health) are heavily involved with the Birmingham Clinic, although it is not owned or operated by Pitt or UPMC. The clinic provides a valuable health service to the under-served population in the Pittsburgh area.</p>
