Birthday celebration ideas white sheltering in place

M D’s birthday is in early May and she lives on her own in NYC. While I’d love to be wrong, I believe we’ll all still be sheltering in place and am starting to think about how I can help make her day special. We’ll bake her favorite cake and send it to her along with candles and I’m sure we’ll zoom and sing with her. I’m also thinking I’ll arrange to have dinner delivered to her. Lastly, I want to send her a box filled with small, wrapped gifts to help extend her celebration.

So far, I’ve thought of See’s lollipops (found at Costco yesterday) and personalized magnets ordered from Shutterfly. I know shipping can be slow these days so I feel like I need to figure this out pretty quickly so I can make sure I have the items in time. Any suggestions to help me fill a package? Or what have others done in this situation?

How about a photo book filled with pics of her birthdays past?

Instead of sending the whole cake, send half; you and she can enjoy the whole cake ‘together’ over Zoom or Facetime.

My cousin’s youngest turns 30 next week. Her oldest sister sent out an email to family and friends that said-
We’d love it if you could each write a letter with a favorite memory of Sister. It could be the first time you met, a crazy night later on when you bonded, or, for some of us, the day she was born  Don’t overthink it–go with your gut! Also, it’d be awesome if you can include a photo of yourself with Sister!

Letter are then mailed to the older sister’s home, which they will either put in a scrapbook, or in a special box for the birthday girl to open. I know they are also doing a few gifts, but I though this was a cute idea that will include her friends and family.
