Black Friday/Cyber Monday Deals 2017

btw- got a Target credit card awhile ago and that extra 5% off could make a difference on bigger ticket items- I only use it there, using my 2% back cards elsewhere… mainly groceries at a superstore. Decades ago I acquired Penneys and Sears credit cards to save hundreds of dollars. Rarely used them after the major purchase that gave discounts on discounts.

Be aware that on some items the Target/Walmart version differs from other purchase places. A few years ago I checked on the same model Samsung TVs at Walmart and discovered the fine print list of some things was different- eg ports for USB? Years ago I talked with Delta regarding faucets and their exact same model numbers were the same regardless of whether bought at a big box store or through a plumber. Sometimes those extra numbers/letters for a model matter.

Agree with the discount stores and online retailers often do not have the most current versions.

I opened up a card at Old Navy today since I got 15% back. Now that I can fit back into Old Navy clothes, it’ll make sense for me to have a card there. I always pay them off anyway. I also got some other coupons.

If you spend $50 at target, you get a 20% next purchase coupon.

Costco has some deep discounts. I’m going to get my dad a Samsung Tablet on there for like $110.

Not sure how much of a deal it is, but I just bought an iPad 128gb 9.7 from Abt for $399, no tax and free shipping (they matched the BH Photo price). Full retail is $429. DS the techie expert agreed it was a good choice and that Apple seldom has discounts. I think they were a door buster at Target yesterday but probably only about five tablets per store if that.

This is the weekend to buy flights, if you are looking. I just scored $89 one-way tix to Dublin from New York.
Norwegian Air.

Also, the Met Museum store - store.metmuseum.org - has 25% off with GIFT17 code.
Amazing gift ideas there for the hard-to-shop-for.

Ahhh. the relatives are doing well today. Just received the link for the instapot DIL wants and my sister sent me the wish list for her kids today.

Chiming in on some above posts, H got a SE phone and loves it. They are well rated and he wanted one that would fit in his pocket. $150 at Walmart and AT & T programmed it onto our business account.

The Target iPad deal is great. My Mom walked in and got one this morning. $250 for a 32 GB model, the best price I’ve seen. No gift card baloney, no red card needed if you shop in store.

Ah, the 32gb was the door buster! I decided my games are such memory hogs that I wanted as much storage as possible. And now I won’t bother upgrading my iPhone 6s when the initial contract ends in January.

Eddie Bauer has everything at 50% off w free shipping and returns…promo code DEALS.

That Target deal was today only, with the coupon given good from Nov 28-Dec 10th for purchases over $50. The (only) guy ahead of me in line at the checkout had a whopping $3+ purchase- he would have needed many, many more bags of sugar than the two he got. I got the Echo for the lowest price, used my 5% off target card AND got the unexpected coupon I’ll use. Plus I went around 5 pm without that much street or store traffic since most had already shopped, the local U is closed and many take this day off. The Echo is a toy for us- not needed. Another consideration- instant gratification plus deal worked out better than a no tax shipped one, we have Amazon instate and they charge FL state tax, sigh.

Anyone else asking their spouse about wanted items from Amazon so they can get free shipping with a combined total? I hate to pay nearly as much for shipping as the item costs.

Why oh why are there not some great deals for the Ipad mini? Okay Best Buy had one at $275, but their website is so flakey. . Apple has said they will no longer update this item, but they still want me to pay full price?

Dang. Not a single deal. The only “deal” we got was a bottle of wine at DeLille on BF sale. :slight_smile:

Bought: metal shelving for garage; license plate holder $$$ for Mr.'s tin can; and 2 live conifers (Turkish fir and Gold Oriental spruce).

I take it back! I used my 50% off an ornament at Molbaks today. That was a sweet deal on a one of a kind, handmade ornament. :slight_smile:

Well I took a risk and bought Lands End cashmere cardigans. They were 50% off and supposed to hold up nicely and not pill. I used ebates so got 2% back and my USAA CCard so got another 2.5% back. The good thing is folks can return them at Sears if they don’t want them for any reason, or mail them back.

@ HImom - I have gotten Lands End cashmere and the quality has been quite good.

@HImom - Costco online has a men’s half-zip cashmere sweater that looks really good.

Thanks—I’m in the market for women’s cardigans but have read great things about the Italian cashmere sweaters Costco used to bring in. H is happy with his chamois and flannel shirts, down vest, base layers and down jacket (can you tell we get cold when we travel)?

@Gatormama - which airline? dates?

Holding 10 week old granddaughter at 6:30 am (wide awake due to time zone difference) so s and DIL can sleep: priceless

Air Fryer on Amazon for $109 - deal of the day.

@jym626 wins!
