I know the Good Buy of the Day has been a really helpful and popular thread. I thought I would share a few deals I have seen for my college student, and specifically my student who will be a college freshman next year and will need more than a few things.

I am hoping if others have seen, or know of, good sales for college students you will share them here! You are a much more resourceful bunch and I really admire that! :)

At Staples from 6am-12noon
HP Simple Save 500GB External Portable Hard Drive $49.99 (save $50)
Garmin Nuvi 265WT Portable GPS $99.99 (save $120)
All day Friday & Saturday
Logitech M510 wireless mouse $14.98 (save $28) *note this is a great one because the USB attachment is nearly flush to the computer it never has to be removed for transport in backpacks, etc., so there is less chance it will get lost.

There are several other deals but those are the ones that jumped out at me. I don’t think I am allowed to post the link but you can see the black friday sales flyer at www dot staples dot com

Costco has women’s flannel PJs for 9.99 & kids size jackets for under $12-? prices (my kiddos still fit kids’ sizes rather than supersizes). Mostly, hubby & S have been “underwhelmed” by most of the Black Friday offerings. Our Costco has some sale coupon items for the weekend only–gift foods to send as Christmas gifts, etc. Will see what we end up purchasing–usually make it there & get the free cookbook with any purchase.

We just decided to get d2 a Nook instead of a Kindle so she can get e-books from the library for free. Has anyone seen any good deals coming up on the Nook?

I never really understood the point of Kindle, when you can just read eBooks on a laptap instead, which as a college student you will be carrying around with you all the time anyway…

S likes putting books on a flashdrive & using whatever is most convenient–the One Laptop Per Child we bought or his netbook or anything else to read from. He can download from anywhere & doesn’t have to worry that someone will delete the books mysteriously. He read quite a bit since graduation this way & hasn’t had to lug heavy books around.

50, Best Buy has the 2G wifi nook on sale for $99 until 11/27…unfortunately they are currently out of stock online. Watching to see if more become available.

For the girls, Vera Bradley website has 25% off 5 colors and some other sale items.

If you spend $100 at Target from 4am-10am on Friday, you get a $10 gift card so if you need anything from Target anyway, it would be a good time to get it.
