Looking to major in Computer Engineering. My test scores and grades are a bit low but my essays and ECs are better:

Math II: 700 (retaking)

GPA: 3.75 UW, 3.8 W
There is a very visible upward trend, I started at A- and now I’m at a solid A (our school works on ± system)
Rigorous for my school, the only APs I’ll miss on this track are Bio and Chem.

My essays emphasize my enthusiasm for engineering, my struggles in a single parent home, and how the many leadership and service opportunities have shaped my character (depending on the prompt). I’m a strong writer and shouldn’t have trouble with essays.

Wondering about my chances at the most highly ranked engineering schools. Please recommend some for me if you’d say I’m nowhere near these. I’m open to hearing anything.

All i have to say is to try to get your sat onto the 2200 range and keep on improving with the upward trend in your grades. Ultimately, applying to the top colleges can be a lottery in some ways but if you are able to paint yourself as a person with an exceptional story (from your background you have a few hooks when it comes to engineering students) youll be fine dude. Just try to enjoy senior year while continuing to work hard.
Also, i believe cornell has a comparatively good engineering program so that may be a school you would want to look at.
