The things that have happened this week disgust me.

There may as well be a thread for post election intimidation. There are just too many to count. smh
Unfortunately, it’s too late to hope the “blowhards” have no sphere of influence. Tuesday’s outcome sent an indelible message that open disdain for minimal standards of rhetorical civility can help earn one a massive following and propel one to an extremely powerful place indeed. So, why should anyone fed up with the constraints of “political correctness” not openly discard their own filter and follow the lead of their champion? If you resent a person because of their race, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, or any other category that has been gaining ground in a bid for “supposed equality”, believing that their gain is your commensurate loss, you now have permission to say so. Openly.
This rhetoric here is why CC doesn’t allow politics.
@poetsheart: That is the fear and my concern, that license will be taken and granted for an unveiling of snarled teeth and a rabid, base invoking of yesteryear’s naked call to racial hatred, acts of intimidation of violence, and an open rekindling of the dismantling of the understanding and acceptance of American citizenry as constitutionally applied and in service to - not in usurpation of- our fellow human value.
That’s my concern, Waiting2exhale, too. But I think we risk a similar lack of control unless we take action on behalf of others, even small actions. Just highlighting recent hate-inspired events makes our blood boil. But then what? The old saying, “If you aren’t part of the solution, you may be part of the problem.” Imo, it’s not enough just to be outraged.
I consider posting on CC action. There is a huge audience, including many young people. The pen is (sometimes) mightier than the sword. I’m not advocating swords. We have many positive actions we can take. I’ve been getting busy.

Get a clue and get over it.
Perhaps later on when things cool down even a tad there can be a better discussion based on facts and not just speculation and rhetoric.
There were 7 earlier. What on this page seems to bother you so much?
What does this even mean? Should black students get over being subjected to this kind of racist and violent rhetoric that didn’t cool down after an 18 month long campaign?
One an only hope the perpetrators learn that rhetoric matters.
“Get a clue and get over it” WOW!
Maybe the Oklahomans were reacting to the kerfuffle in Philadelphia in which flashmobs are attacking people on fairly obvious racial lines? Seems like a few emails from some morons in Oklahoma get more press that serial riots.
It has been my experience that the lines are only fairly obviously racial when we want to see, or not see.
When the argument seems inarguable, so often a disingenuous undertaking takes the lead, with calls for “proof of motivation,” “proof that the same actions would not have been taken if the other party were not [insert any group/gender/skin tone],” “proof that there was not some other underlying context to the interaction which would place these things into a context better to be understood.”
Those emails were direct statements, with digital fingerprints.
But Mom…he started it!
Just to bring a little balance to the conversation - plenty of wretched things are happening on both sides.
I heard the audio of this on the radio. Absolutely despicable. I think the child services people need to investigate this mother. That poor child was crying so much it was heartbreaking.
@marvin100 I thought Trump started it?
Here is another one:
Seems like there is plenty of blame to throw around. At some point, people need to act like adult, law-abiding citizens.
That’s 2 to about 2000, but I agree that people need to calm down.
Getting back to Penn, what was the connection with Oklahoma? Were they just randomly targeted? Why did they ever, ever, think that the electronic signature would not be traced back to them?
