Blank Slate Suggestions?

I want to hear some suggestions as if I were giving you a blank slate, i.e., no specific colleges of my choosing, so here are my stats:

I’m going into my senior year of high school, grades have improved trough HS, ending on a high note right now-
-Go to the best (or one of the best) public schools in Pennsylvania
-3.8 Unweighted GPA
-4.2 WGPA (pretty tough schedule, 4 APs senior year, 1 Honors and the rest are regular only because they apply to my major and aren’t offered as honors)
-30 on ACTs (plan on improving to a 31-MAYBE 32 if i get lucky)
-1270/1600, 2000/2400 on SATs :frowning: plan on improving to 2100)
-Class Vice President
-Got into PA Governor’s School for Global Entrepreneurship (Highly selective state-sponsored scolarship to basically attend college for 5 weeks at Lehigh over the summer focusing on Intl. Business, working with companies)
-Varsity in Track and Field 10, 11
-HS Soccer 9, 10-didn’t get cut, got bored
-Rec basketball, Travel Soccer Captain (stupid I know, but well-roundedness is a + I guess)
-Secretary of National Honor Society
-President of CISV Pittsburgh (International Cultural Understanding Organization) Been involved since I was eleven, travelled to foreign countries to camps with other delegations from other nations most summers, was a Junior Leader (most likely an essay topic)
-President of World Affairs Club
-Member Law (10,11), Spanish (9,10,11), LINK(9,10,11)helping special-ed kids) Clubs
-Extensive Travel to CISV camps (see above) since I was 11 (looks pretty sicko on resumes/essays I think)
-Paul Harris Service Above Self Rotary Club Award
-Scolarship to attend 3 week seminar at Washington and Lee (had to turn it down for Governor’s School)
-Invited to attend the Junior Statesmen Summer School program 2007
-I was invited to participate in the inception of a program at my high school called Athletes Taking Action. This program pairs older athletes with younger athletes to act as role models 2006-2007.
-I received a scholarship from the Upper St. Clair-Bethel Park Rotary Club to attend the 36th World Affairs Institute for Student Leaders: India at Center Stage.
-I campaigned for the re-election of Congressman Tim Murphy during his successful 2006 re-election campaign.
-I currently tutor at the junior high school level in my school district. I also tutor a recent high school immigrant from Puerto Rico who attends a City of Pittsburgh school.
-Some other volunteering and resume filler BS…
-I would have good interviews and above par essays

Sorry about the long list, I just want a good opinion. I plan on studying International Business and taking Portuguese. So I’m in-state for Pennsylvania and University of Virginia (legacy, and yes I have checked and it’s correct
School must have:
-more than 5,000 undergrads
-decent sports scene/campus spirit
-solid campus (not urban like GW, but OK if it’s like Georgetown, which has its own little setting)
-good academics all the way around, not just a good business school

Small factos, not that important:
-class size, location in the US, cost/scholarship opportunities, in-state/OOS)

Thanks a lot! This really helps a lot, just tell me if you want me to rate your lists or whatever and I will. Thanks for any suggestions…

Go!

If you have any questions just I ask, I know this topic seems rather ambiguous

Some suggestions based on your current interests… the major factor that limited this list was your prospective major in international business, so if you changed it, the list would be entirely different and have more options.

HIGH REACH: University of Pennsylvania ¶, Washington University in St. Louis (MO)

REACH: Georgetown University (DC), University of Southern California (CA)

SEMI-REACH: McGill University (Canada), New York University (NY)

GOOD FIT: Boston University (MA), The College of New Jersey (NJ), University of Maryland-College Park (MD), University of Miami (FL)

LIKELY: Baylor University (TX), Clemson University (SC), College of Charleston (SC), Drexel University ¶, Fordham University (NY), Loyola University (LA), Marquette University (WI), Northeastern University (MA), University of Washington (WA)

Your test scores are kinda low. The place that immediately came to mind was U of Wisconsin-Madison. Others include: McGill, U of Toronto, Miami (both Ohio and Fla), Indiana U., Tulane, Wake Forest, Syracuse, Southern Methodist U, and U of Rochester, U of Iowa, U of Georgia, U of Maryland, U of Colorado.

A lot of really good liberal arts colleges would take you, but you want a bigger school…

Two other reaches to consider: Boston College and Villanova.

as an instate legacy at Virginia you have really good chances.

thanks a lot, i really want a large-ish school, or good school spirit (i.e. Wake) and i am planning on improving my test score from a 2000 to a 2100 realistically… thanks guys any new help would be awesome
