Blanked for 50 minutes..what do I do?!

Multiple choice was ok and then we start the essay section.
Am reading through the documents/prompts feels like 5 minutes-look at the clock and 50 minutes have passed. 50.

I just wrote the two crappiest essays of my life, and couldn’t even start the third.
Clearly I failed, what the hell do I do now? I’m an English person, I write for multiple publications! Is there any way that I can get the score removed from my score report when I send my scores to college when I’m a senior? Do they use AP scores when making admission decisions??

I’m hitting myself in the face right now. Repeatedly.

I’m pretty sure you have the option not to include the score on your Common App. Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us.

You can cancel your score and then re-take the exam if you want next year (if you want the credit). Or you could just not report it (AP scores are self-reported on college apps)

No, AP scores are not used for admission decisions; they’re used for credit in the respective subject areas.

I definitely know how you feel. I am very much an English person, as well. But for me, I’m pretty sure I bombed the MC (which i usually do fine in) and only did adequate on the essays… :l
totally disappointed.

Anyways, I agree with Seeking Uni. You can cancel your scores before you send them, and AP scores are not used for admissions decisions. Only for placement and credit…

Despite that it might be some comforting information. It’s totally a bummer, huh?

Just hope for the best. It’s the most any of us can do right now.

Best of luck!

My sympathies… especially considering your credentials.

Talk to your guidance counselor if you’re really worried and find out if you can get your score cancelled. That’s pretty much all I think you can do.

Thanks guys, that makes me feel better. Now I just have to come to grips with the fact that I completely wasted 90 somewhat dollars…

Depending on the university, AP scores may or may not be used in admissions.

For many, having a good score (5 preferably, 4 is good too) will help very slightly.

Sending a low score could harm your chances, especially if your application includes a lot of English related activities.

Just call them and cancel it.

I just got my scores today (I don’t know why they’re so early…) and I miraculously got a 3 so I didn’t technically fail but should I still cancel the score?
