so what’s the deal with it always being locked? i thought it would be a good place to study, but it’s been locked since the day i got here. just now i huffed and puffed up like 12 flights of stairs to go see it, but it’s not open. haha. anyone know?

Supplemental housing is up there now. There are two rooms, each with 8 guys in it.

OMG! Really? because actually it WAS unlocked for a while on the first evening i was here and i went in and there was this guy in there with his parents sitting on a couch… so i was actually standing in somebody’s dorm room? hahaha that’s embarrassing…

too bad they couldn’t put supp. housing somewhere else though so that honors quad people could use the attic for studying. guess there’s really nowhere else though unless they wanted to sleep in the Q under the ping pong tables or something.

I think K1DUK might be joking around, however I dunno.

lol americaninparis! xD

im in littlefield so i have access to the quad as long as i mice my way through carothers to get to the other ones.

I am not joking around. I’m in the attic with 7 roommates.

Really? What’s that like?

Living in Littlefield, naturally I live in a box. My roommate and I share a closet similar to a small hall closet. lol

It’s terrible. It’s terrible and my friend who got supp housing got it in san jac, so he gets a bigger room, a private bath that he doesn’t have to clean (although it is down the hall) and the same discount as me.

Ah I’m really sorry. I’m right across the courtyard if you wanna hang out sometime. My roommate just left for a highlighter party and didnt even bother to ask if I wanted to go…it sounded really fun. :(

K1DUK, what’s so bad about it? How big are the rooms? How exactly are they set up? But yeah dude I live in Blanton too, so if your situation ever becomes unbearable, just shoot me a message :P

Ok, now I see why I thought this was funky. I was thinking that you guys live in the Blanton Museum, I didn’t know their was a Blanton dorm.

If you guys haven’t seen the attic it’s kinda cool I guess. It is a long area with a room on either end next to a door to the stairwell. There are couches and tables, and bathrooms along one wall. When they clear us out it probably would be a cool place to study.

No one lives in the middle area, but in each room at either end there are 8 beds (though I’m guessing that, mine has 8 but the one on the other end might have less). The room is pretty big but divided between 8 people it is fairly cramped. We don’t have anything in the room but beds, chest of drawers, and there are some cabinets but most have locks on them.

Still, it’s an awesome location on campus. I’m near the drag, a bus stops right by my dorm, and my classes are close.

I just went ahead and typed all that up because I figured if next year someone is like me and likes to research that stuff, even if they are limited to the day before they move in (which is when supp spaces get their assignments) it might prepare them better. I was only told of 1 roommate I’d have, so walking in sunday evening and seeing a room full of beds was a bit of a surprise.

The bad part is that they keep it pretty warm up here. It’s not burning up but I was used to keeping my room at 68f last year. The “lights out” situation is a little sketchy, and sometimes a guy will set his alarm but he will sleep through it and I am left in bed annoyed not knowing what to do.

That’s true about writing on here to warn future longhorns. I’ll have to warn future Littlefield Ladies that they just might get a box like mine and have to share a small closet to deal with haha. I don’t know if I would agree to 8 people lol.

Are you talking about the area right above the lobby between Blanton and Andrews?

We were talking about the actual 6th floor of Blanton, the floor that isn’t accessible by elevator…

wow, they are getting desparate. I remember I used to study in the blanton basement, until they turned that into a dorm suit. oh the good ol’ days when study rooms are a plenty.
