Actually, this is a teachable moment, for S to take over washing his OWN clothing so he can prevent these incidents. My S was motivated to start washing his own clothes in grade school because I didn’t scrub at the red dirt spots with soap and they became permanent stains. He scrubbed them out and had unstinted clothing. D was and is lazier and likes using “color catchers” to keep her clothing the colors they’re supposed to be. I learned about color catchers on CC. They’re in the laundry section and online.
