UC’s new Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan will cover your systemwide fees if you are a California resident whose family earns less than $60,000 a year and you qualify for financial aid. And this is just the starting point. Blue and Gold students with sufficient financial need can qualify for even more grant aid to help reduce the cost of attending.

<p>I am old enough to be independent on FAFSA and made under $10,000 last year, how do I find out if I got accepted to this? I didn’t see anything about it on my financial aid info on either UCSB or UCSD’s websites.</p>

<p>I can’t remember where I read this, but I remember reading something that said that if you don’t see the Blue & Gold program reflected in your financial aid letter, but you qualify, it will be fixed by the time classes begin and bills start rolling in.
I’ll try to find where I read that, but I just spent a few minutes looking and couldn’t find anything, so don’t get your hopes up.
If I were you I would just talk to the counselor you work with at your orientation, or when you get to school. Or call someone at the financial aid office.</p>

I keep reading that if you qualify, you’ll get it. They probably just haven’t gotten around to it yet.</p>
