blue jeans for a guy for an SEC school?

I think he means that half their students are from out of state.

^^That.

Why is UA such a hated school. Not trying to start something, just curious as it’s on my D’s list.

@Chardo - I’m aware of that fact, still trying to figure out the point of the statement.

@txmom16 - I’m not sure but I’m thinking maybe it’s a football thing?

This Auburn girl thanks you! :wink:

It’s called jealousy. We have the same so-called “problem” at WVU, (in other words, we couldn’t care less). WVU students LOVE the school. Many others hate us. I love that between our conference share of well over 30MM + PLUS third tier monies, which are INCLUDED in SEC payouts but NOT BIGXII payouts, (t-shirts and the like), + PLUS our IMG deal, we will earn more in 2016 from sports than MOST SEC schools. HA HA HA HA HA! Go BIGXII. Good luck to Midwestern Mizzzzzzzzzzooooooooo and the “SEC” smirk

@olemissrebel This is some of the best advice I’ve seen for a male wardrobe for any campus. A few of the brands have changed, but it isn’t too different from what we were wearing 30 years ago, or what I wear today.

It’s really easy. Levi’s jeans. Khakis, some kind of dressy, some not so much; Some decent polo-style shirts (worn with an undershirt) of various brands, such as Polo, Lacoste, Vineyard Vines, ect.; a few long-sleeved, all-cotton button-down dress shirts in white, blue and blue stripe; a couple of long-sleeve Ralph Lauren Polo shirts are nice and remain in style, but don’t go overboard. Never wear any item with a giant logo. As for shoes, I prefer Bass, Sper;ry, and Johnston & Murphey, but to each his own.

Every guy will need a blue blazer and a couple of ties. IMO One should be a rep tie in the school’s colors. He will wear this often, for football games, bid day, church if he goes, Christmas party, etc. A pair of Bass Weejuns WITHOUT the tassle is all that is needed for a dress shoe. the Weejuns can be worn to class as well. You can just wear the heck out of them.

A couple of years after graduation I bought an Austin-Reed wool, pinstripe suit from my favorite college haberdasher. It was a classic, conservative style. Sadly, I grew out of it and it went to the back of my closet. My son is now a high school junior and it fits him almost perfectly, with enough room for him to gain a pound or two. It’s almost 25 years old but doesn’t look a bit out of style to me. I can’t wait to send my son off to school with it. That’s the benefit of wearing classic clothes.
