I know this is a narrow topic but we are going to need to board our dog for two nights in Plymouth, Mi in order to attend a wedding before going on a lake vacation. We could board the dog at home but then he would miss out on the lake vacation which he dearly loves. We are staying at the Hilton Gardens there if that helps.

Another option is dogvacay.com or similar sites. I have had nothing but satisfying experiences with dogvacay, both locally and while traveling. I like that I can find a private home with a similar set up to our home. Yes, that means finding someone who will let our spoiled pup sleep in their bed!

Our dog is very attached to me and while not aggressive, he really would rather not be with people he doesn’t know. He does fine in a kennel as he can have his own space. I think he is rather introverted (a little like me). I have sent a message to the Valley of the Hounds, so we shall see what they say. The kennel name sounds like an old classic novel.
