I am a African american girl, low income,Does ballet,Interested in social justice and activism.I want a small to medium school(student population 300-700) with excellent humanities and writing,a good dance program, and no to be in the middle of nowhere.I visited St.Paul’s, Choate ,St.marks,Milton, and Concord Academy. I liked Concord,Choate, and Milton. So can someone recommend more schools for me.

Thacher has a very, very good dance program. (They just sent 5 dancers to China to participate in an international arts festival.)

It is a smaller school - around 240 students - but has excellent academics, including humanities and writing. Students are encouraged to put their principles into practice, and every year I’m amazed at what they accomplish.

Thacher is located in Ojai, CA - certainly a small town, but not in the “middle of nowhere.”

Choate is >850 btw.

Dana Hall.

Miss Porter’s has a good dance program and is located in a town within walking distance to shops etc. NMH has a strong dance program and a huge emphasis on scoial justice and activism which you might find interesting. Perhaps that combination would be enough to overcome its location in rural western Masaachusetts.

Co-Ed please and it has to have diversity

Look at Andover. It’s a little larger than what you wanted, but it has an excellent dance program, opportunities for politics/social justice, and it has great financial aid. If you’re interested PM me.
