Background Info about me.
I just turned 14 and I’m in the eight grade. I’ve always wanted to go to a boarding school, mainly because I’ve always felt that it was right for me. Its that feeling in your gut, you know?
Well anyways, I applied to Groton School last year for second form but got waitlisted, and I was notified admissions for second form were competitive. I play three sports; Tennis, Swimming and Cross Country. I am doubled up in science (Biology and Physics) and currently two grades ahead in Math (Algebra II ). To add, I’m a NJHS member, a tour guide, a peer mediator, debater and I have a passion for photography. I am applying to numerous schools; PEA, PA, Groton, Choate, Lawrenceville, Taft, Hotchkiss, Milton and Middlesex. I have visited five so far and I currently have 4 left to visit and interview. Ever since I got waitlisted for Groton, I’ve dreaded the letter that begins with… “Your application for admission…maximum number of applicants…waitlisted…” I want the letter that begins with “Congratulations!” I’ve wanted this ever since fourth grade…
My first choice right now is PA or Groton
SSAT: 97th Percentile
So how do you guys think the admissions process went? (For current applicants)
What were your reactions when you received the letter when you were accepted? Looking back, how is your freshman year different from high school at home? (For current students)
Not that many people in my state know about boarding school… all the local seminars I went to, only 5 or 6 people showed up.
I know my question isn’t really specific but I had to get it out there… any replies would be VERY appreciated! I just wanted to connect with a couple of current applicants.
