Boatwright Scholar vs. Echols and University Achievement Scholar at UVA

I have narrowed it down to either University of Richmond and UVA. Both schools would cost the same, so price is not an important factor. I have been the awarded the Boatwright Scholarship, which is full tuition. I have also been awarded Echols(honors) and the University Achievement Award, which is full tuition at UVA. I like everything range from math, physics, and bio, to history, literature, and foreign languages. I am thinking about going pre-med, but that will most likely change. Both schools are really good, but are completely different. It will be a tough decision. Which one do you think I should choose and why?

I am thinking if you are “smart” enough to receive multiple full tuition scholarships, you are “smart” enough to figure this out for yourself.

Ventura, they are two completely different schools. A small, liberal arts school versus a large public institution. Both are great schools. It really depends on what you’re looking for.

UVA has a better “brand,” but I would argue that UR has several advantages. First, you have small class sizes, allowing for more personal interaction not only with your professors but also your classmates. Second, UR takes care of its scholars pretty well. You’ll be at the front of the line for everything. Third, given the fact that you “like” everything, a liberal arts education sounds ideal, especially if your initial thought is to go pre-med. UR has a solid program. Over the last 5 years, students have gone on to study at 13 of the top 25 grad schools in the country.
@ Spiders05-Do you work for the UR Admissions’s office?

Nope. Active alum.

@Spider05. Thank you so much for your insights! I flip on which school I am attending every single day. The goods news is that I will be going down to Richmond tommorrow for scholars weekend, so I will be able to get a really good feel for the campus and the students.
