Bobby Flay and His Cat

Speaking of famous folks and cats. I wonder if Judge Posner wrote this after placing a hefty Chewy order, LOL. Take a look at what he wrote strating in the middle of p 3 through middle of page 4 of this lovely Seventh Circuit piece.

Posner does have a kitty:

My gal has been an indoor cat since day one. Being a kitten, she was certainly curious when I left the house for work every morning. One day she did get out…on the weekend! I’m on my couch when a neighbor knocks to show me that the little stinker had somehow gotten past me and was roaming outside. Funny thing, I guess being on unfamiliar territory wasn’t comfortable for her. These days when the front door is open for an extra minute or two it means nothing to her. She will not cross the threshold. At night when she hears me coming in from the job, she’ll run to the front door to greet me but never enter the doorway. Go figure.

As for being alone, she emphatically demonstrates her annoyance when no one is home. An emergency last spring kept me away for three days (fortunately a dear friend was available to check on Princess Grace at the end of the third day). Knowing I might be away for a while, I left extra-large bowls of food and water before I left my home. Sure enough, upon my return Ms. Kitty had ravaged through a few things…AND had knocked a glass dish from the dinner table. Broken glass was everywhere! And just a couple days ago, she climbed atop the kitchen counter and tossed a drinking glass to the floor while I was at work. Told her yesterday that she is about to get on my last nerve.

@LakeWashington, maybe you need to get her another kitty about the same age (or a little younger) for company! Even if they don’t become close friends, I think they feel less isolated that way…
