I was wondering what if a celebrity went to a college, should she/he be followed around with bodyguards? Is that even allowed ? imagine you walk out of the bathroom and there are two giant guys standing in front of you lol

Chelsea Clinton had secret service agent attending class with her. I never heard any report of say, Emma Watson having any security.

Emma Watson had a security guard disguised as a graduate sitting beside her at graduation.

@KKmama I understand that, but attending classes with you, practices, lunch?

I can’t really see how it would impact your life if someone else did have a body guard on campus. They are there for one reason only. The “two giant guys” would not be in the bathroom with you, but waiting for their charge out in the hallway.

The Bush twins’ secret service agents looked the other way (so to speak) while the girls were drinking illegally (underage) while they were in college. So the presence of any security guard would be no big deal.

The Sprouse twins (Suite Life of Zach and Cody) didn’t have any security folks as far as I could tell, though they weren’t really big time folks

@KKmama I don’t have anything against it.

Guards come in female, too. Also young and cute.

The West Wing anyone? This was discussed there, usually younger bodyguards that kept a decent distance.

I lived/worked in a country where it was necessary for my company to assign a bodyguard to me, and was also my driver. He would stand outside the lady’s room, outside of restaurant or wait in the car if it was a fairly safe place. I pretty much didn’t have any secret from my bodyguard, but after a while, I kind of got used to it. The same bodyguard would also go with my daughter when she was out at night with friends. Sometimes when we needed to go out at the same time, we would make sure someone else’s bodyguard would also be responsible for her. She would tell us, “so and so has 2 bodyguards, so one of them could look after me.” Of course, this also meant our daughter couldn’t go any where without our knowledge. We were always informed of her whereabout.

Most American high school would send out a letter to parents about no drinking at the prom. We received a letter to inform us that no bodyguards were allowed inside the ballroom, and if they were going to be around the vicinity, no guns were allowed.

Most of my kid’s friends were driven to school with 3 vehicles, bodyguard vehicle in front and back of the car they are in. Those kids love coming to the US for college because of the freedom they have here.

@oldfort thank you so much, that was helpful!

@Wordworker I know they do, but people usually like being protected by male bodyguards.

,@milathetrojan, that is pretty sexist. Tell that to females that are in the Secret Service. Most of what security detail does isn’t involving physical force.

The really dangerous bodyguard is the one you don’t notice.

@GA2012MOM @Hunt I’m just saying how it is. Presidents are being protected by male bodyguards, celebrities, politicians, billionaires…You name it!
Only ‘big’ name that’s being protected by female bodyguards that I know of is Qaddafi. ( I think Kate Middleton also has a female bodyguard, but I’m not sure)

The male bodyguard is just the one you see.

In China, females bodyguards are harder to come by and they are more expensive.
