Boichem Activites

Hi I am a rising senior from GA, and living in southeast GA there are limited science/research-related activities here for me to get involved in.

I hope to attend GA Tech next fall, and major in Biochem, but there really are not many activities in the area (other than hospital volunteer, clinic volunteer) that would showcase my interest in Biochem/Biomedical research.

Does anyone know of any bio/biochem/research related activities that are near GA…north Ga or north FLA or SC area?

Any and all advice would be appreciated!!!

Unfortunately they’re not many until you complete a few levels of classes first.

I suggest that during the end of your second semester you start asking your professors about research positions. Hopefully you will be able to start research by next summer or fall. Join SAACS. Not much else beyond that. UG research is pretty laid back at Tech, all you gotta do is ask to meet with the prof and explain your interest and desire to research and they’ll usually give you a spot if they have room in the lab.
