Here’s my suggestion on how to price the books- Take the rating you gave it (eg. 7) and multiply the fraction (eg 7/10) to the price of a NEW book (eg - (7/10)*(200) - the buyer would pay $140 for that book)

Please let me know if you have a better system or can improve on mine

Hope this works…

I thought students could trade in their first semester books to the USC book store for credit to buy the second semester books. If this is true, I was wondering when they bring in their books to sell to the book store.

rragas - Before everyone gets too involved here, are these types of threads allowed under CC guidelines? Wouldn’t want it to get deleted after people spend time typing up all their lists.

As for the bookstore, the “credit” is abysmal, especially for books that have since been re-published as a new edition. Even for new textbooks, expect $20-$30 credit for a book that will probably be sold “used” for $70 the next month. Selling back textbooks will never be enough to cover the next semester. I think Amazon.com Marketplace or Half.com may offer better returns if you want to re-sell the book.

For future purchases, also consider the rates from textbook “rental” companies that send you the book for a semester. I think there have been threads in other sections about these types of services.

will fill in the details later after my final and when I can process thought again…

CC is mostly frequented by USC wannabes and parents of current students who have nothing better to do with their lives (I am one of those :D) Selling books here is probably not the best idea. May I suggest [USC Book Exchange](http://community.livejournal.com/uscbookexchange/). Not very active, but at least dedicated to this purpose. The LJ and FB groups are probably even better options.

Or parents who can multitasking sucessfully. :D

I’d LIKE to put myself in that category… … as I’m uploading, downloading, cleaning, cooking, and trying to stuff the remnants of Christmas into the trash can… and looking at my watch to see when the kids will go back to school so I can have a clean quiet house again…
