Books for SAT Preparation (for a freshman)

Hi,
I’m a freshman in Turkey, I will be in IB for the next 2 years, and since my school isn’t offering SAT (or TOEFL) courses I have decided to start sacrificing my time now since my goal is attending a good college in USA. I’m guessing my math won’t be much of a problem, my biggest problem will be vocabulary in critical reading (I took the SATs in the 7th grade for talent search so i know my flaws). What kind of work ethic do I need (2 tests every day until the 12th grade?)? And which books to get right now in the 9th grade? Could I buy any SAT prep book and understand it? What would you recommend for me as I develop?

Thanks

Honestly, you’d be wasting your time studying that early. Your time could be much better spent on your IB courses. You can start studying the summer before junior year. Starting any early than that is nearly insane.

To improve your crit reading score and vocabulary, your best bet will be to read a ton of book between now and the time you take your SATs. Then get one review book that goes over the reading, math and writing section. Then it’s just practice practice practice. It doesn’t have to be full tests, but make sure you keep practicing each section. You can take one practice test each weekend if you don’t run out…
