<p>WebAssign is an online homework system, where students can complete and submit assignments created by faculty for a part of their overall grade. If WebAssign is a required part of the course, then the student will need to purchase access to WebAssign. The student does not need to buy an activation code card bundled with a textbook, though. If the student buys a used book, they can still purchase access to WebAssign in a variety of ways (directly online when registering at WebAssign; as a stand-alone code card from the bookstore; or directly from the textbook publisher, if they have an online store. Prices will vary depending on where the code is purchased.). I’d recommend checking with the teacher to see if WebAssign is required for the course-and, if it is, research the other options first to see if the used book + access cost is a better value than the new textbook + access code bundle.</p>
