Boost gpa for high school [if taking college courses while in high school]

Hello

Does taking community college courses boost high school gpa?

thanks

Depends on the policies of your HS

Or it will establish a parallel one.

And some struggle, some don’t.

In my opinion, APs at school would be better if offered in areas you have not progressed out of. Or DE if offered at your school.

For me, they boost your GPA the same way APs do. Go for it if you want. My school is on a 4.0 scale? 4.0 unweight, 5.0 weighted.

It may, depending on your high school’s policy.

The effect on the GPA that gets seen by college admissions depends on the college and may vary across colleges. Colleges you apply to for frosh admission will want to know about all high school and college courses and grades, and will interpret and/or recalculate them according to their own policies.

My daughter took a math class dual enrollment at a local University her senior year. She got an A and while it showed up on her high school transcript (I think) it did not give her the bump in GPA that an A in an AP class would due to her school’s policies. She got no more of a bump than she would have if she received an A in a high school course. But every school handles this differently.
