Hello All.
I am new to this site so please excuse any unusual conventions. I am currently a junior in a small competitive high school in Ohio, and I recently scored a 31 on the ACT. Going from a 27, I was overjoyed to know that I could now easily get in on scholarship at OSU. However, I soon realized my score was just under the curve for what would give me a chance at many great engineering schools (Rice, MIT, etc.). With a decent GPA (3.8w-hopefully a 3.9w by the end of the year) and a fairly rigorous curriculum (1 AP last year, 3 this year, mostly honors courses, advanced in math and science) I was wondering where to apply. Additionally, I have 3 siblings, and being in a higher income bracket makes financial aid based on need a bit of an issue. Also, my EC’s are alright, this year I am starting in my schools First Robotics team and continuing with the YMCA Youth in Government program in an executive leadership position. Thanks for the help!
TLDR: 31 ACT, ~3.8-3.9 Weighted GPA, Some EC’s, curious on where I can get in for an engineering major that won’t bankrupt me.
