Studied for LSAT, tested in this range everytime on timed practice exams. Do not believe if I took the LSAT a second time my score would change much.

Wide variety of Applications, Reach UofM, Notre Dame etc… Strong Midwest
Majority of Big Ten, other Midwest Top 100 and local Safety schools. Would like to stay home in Chicago or Midwest area after graduation.

I am hoping for a T1 acceptance, LSAT score is not strong for higher ranked

As a applicant with decent but not high LSAT waiting seems to be the name of the game.

your LSAT will keep you out of the T1. this is all but guaranteed unless you are an under-represented minority.

He is white male
The only thing that could be worse is to be Asian ;]

Thanks for the reply
LOL yeah Demographics are not good for my review.

Unfortunately that is what I thought.
I hope to get into a Top 100 school. Pending at many presently.
I will be concerned if not attending a Tier 1 or Tier 2 school, with the current state of job market. Not sure I want to incur the debt without a solid university reputation behind my JD.
I am more than confident that my grades will be strong, I will do the work.

Well I have some replies from safety schools, strong regional reputations, just not sure that is enough in this economy.

you are right to seriously evaluate your prospects and investment. outside of the T1, if you have access to some other job somehow, you should go for it in my opinion, at least for a few years while this economy passes by.

as you go lower in the rankings, the schools become MORE competitive because students realize that only X% will get the big jobs. be careful of this when you bank on having great grades by putting in the work.

also, it seems like grades are part effort, part skill, and part luck. even if you put in a ton of work, you might not just have a good exam ability and of course might also have bad luck.

since you are still in college, I might suggest you avail yourself of the (free?) college counseling service to see if they could ascertain why you test low. Obviously, four years of class finals have not hurt your gpa, so you can perform on test day. A 3.78 athlete could do really well in the professional school sweepstakes, if you can boost that standardized test score.

You’ll be shut out of T1 with that LSAT. Maybe you should consider retaking and applying next cycle.

I have also given some thought of working on a Masters, possibly teach and coach.
I think I would find it enjoyable, just not ready to give up quite yet.

3 years out, will the economy be such that the money and time invested pays off?
I suppose many of us have the same concerns, when reviewing what level or the cost.

Sad to see 1 “simple” test have such a control on my life’s goal, very frustrating.
May defer for a year, keep my summer job as a trainer, and bang the LSAT classes see if I can get my numbers up.

Sorry a little long winded, tough spot.
Had thoughts of working a year and trying LSAT for a 3rd time, with serious study time.

Close to decision day narrowed the group to the following:
In at Penn State, Michigan State , Wayne State no monies, in-state with WSU.
Hold at Case Western
Still under review at IU, and Cinci
Turned down U0fD Mercy at 70% scholarship based on holding GPA range just did not feel right after visit.

WSU has a great Regional Rep, but the Economy in Michigan Scares me, so praying for Case, IU, Cinci acceptance Case and Cinci could be In-State years 2-3 plus are significantly higher regarded than WSU,MSU.

1st tuition due at WSU, MSU, and Penn State thinking I need to put money down at 1 of 3 to hold my spot and wait on Case, IU, and Cincy accept even at Full Tuition if I get the call.
No College loans from undergrad.

Have sent LOCI to the Hold / Waitlist letters

Thank you in advanced for the comments.
