In Boren’s letter addressed to parents, it stated ’ 7% increase in tuition and fees this year’. I did not expect this would happen when I enrolled our son in OU last year. Two increases in the row and there is no telling if state funding will continue to be cut next year or not.
Ironically Boren said over 300 university positions have been eliminated and he, VP and officers took a voluntary 3% pay cut and yet football coaches got raises?! In his letter he blaimed state government for the damage to the higher education while he did not explain his approval for the football stadium expansion and the pay increases for the coaches.
