Brown to Increase Undergrad Tuition & Fees by 4.25%

Brown University announced that the Brown Corporation approved the increase in tuition and fees for the 2026-2027 school year.

The increases were approved this weekend and will take effect in July.

The tuition and fees for undergraduate students will go up 4.25%, according to officials. This will mean that undergraduate tuition and fees will cost a total of $97,016.

The other fees include room rate, health services fee, student activities fee and more.

I believe that was last year’s increase. I believe this year was set at 4.25%:

Sorry, yes, I update the first post to reflect the right numbers. Thanks for catching!

I note we just got the email that WashU is increasing its full pay tuition by right about 4.5% (not sure about total cost of attendance).

Overall my sense is we are likely looking at full pay costs increasing above the general inflation rate for most such universities for a while yet (those increases had gone below for a bit during the inflation spike). Average costs net of aid are a different matter, although it will be “interesting” to see how that shakes out as well (it can take a bit to get good data).
