BU grad here - it’s been a while so some of my favorite old haunts are no longer, but over the summer I took S24 to check it out because he kept saying he might want to follow in my footsteps (as suspected, city life is not for him, but glad we went to confirm that).
While we were there, we stopped at Audubon on Beacon Street right next to my old apartment in South campus. It used to be a bit of a dive bar but it has been revamped into a fantastic little brunch spot with 100% the BEST burger I’ve ever had. If you’re able to coordinate a stop there while touring BU I highly recommend it.
We found some great deals on a hotel near the Prudential which was awesome for a “central” location, near transportation, near food, shopping, etc. We also did a Duck Tour, which I had always refused to do in my younger years, and it was excellent - great way to see the city and the staff were very entertaining.
I recommend wandering down Newbury St just to check it all out, especially if it’s nice out. The Public Library is pretty special if you have the time. Also gotta second Modern Pastry and the North End in general.
Have a blast!!
