To clarify, the apparent acceptance rate data may not be accurate, but the latest (12/2018) “Poets & Quants for Undergrads” ranks CSOM #9 overall, helped by the strength of the BC Alumni network. Again, I wouldn’t be too concerned about rankings —but, CSOM did bring up P&Q during the “Welcome Event” this spring…

At the BC info session, they said the admit rate between the schools has been historically very close, within a point or so of each other.
Does anyone know if they have/when they will close the waitlist for this year?
@speedracer48 , the BC website has posted:
“Please note that we will not be able to determine if any students will be admitted from the waiting list until after May 1, 2019. Therefore, you should secure a place at an institution to which you have been admitted. Your status will be resolved no later than July 1, 2019.”
"Your patience in awaiting our decision on your waiting list status is deeply appreciated. Please understand that this period of time has been necessary to determine whether there will be available spaces in next year’s class. Regretfully, I must inform you that our freshman class for September is complete at this time. As a result, we are unable to offer you admission to Boston College.
As you know from my previous correspondence, Boston College received over 35,000 applications for 2,300 openings in our freshman class. After extending admission offers to a limited number of wait listed students, our freshman class has now reached its capacity."
That’s a wrap. Off to Emory (which we preferred for her but were willing to see out the BC process).

Emory is a great school. Wishing your family all the best, cattledog.
Did you receive that notification through email?
I didn’t receive the notification that the waitlist is closed. Was this sent out by school or by individual reps?
This was an email from the school, not an individual.
I just got in off of the waitlist today! They said they have around five spots left. Best of luck to everyone else, no matter where you end up
@speedracer48 congrats speed racer :-). Welcome to BC. You are going to love it! Congratulations on never giving up.
Hi guys,
I was hoping us Class of 2024ers could get some advice in the 2024 waitlist discussion. Anything would be super appreciated. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/2178827/boston-college-waitlist-2024#Form_Body
