CSOM admittance

@bbfan1927 I’m looking at this a little differently. ED admitted scores are essentially equal to enrolled. Last year’s higher-scoring EA admits who didn’t enroll would not have applied ED, so comparing EA admitted scores to ED enrolled would be apples/oranges. Leaving aside the teeny, tiny sample size and the fact that we are not privy to the holistic view, all of the ED1 scores and all but two of the ED2 test scores are at or above the average overall enrolled scores for class of 2023 (1412, 32). From our tiny CC sample of ED enrolled scores, ED1 average 1482, 33.4; ED2 average 1450, 31.5; ED1 + ED2 average 1462, 32.8.

Accepted ED1:
33/4.4w, (#36, 59, 66)
1480/3.6, URM (#68)
1460/4.0, MCAS (#70)
34/4.57w, CSOM (#75)
32/3.8, MCAS, legacy (#77)
35/3.83, MCAS (#84)
1470/3.9, nursing (#85, 91)
33/4.9 (#95)
1520/3.7, nursing (#96)

Deferred ED1: 31/3.84 (#67); 32/3.86 (#101)

Accepted ED2:
1470/3.95w, nursing (#182)
1470/3.8, MCAS (#184)
31/3.88, CSOM (#185)
32 ACT, MCAS (#187)
1510/4.0, international (#188)
1440/4.0, MCAS (#189)
1430/4.1w, CSOM (#190)
1300/4.4, MCAS, 1st gen (#194)
1530, 3.95w, CSOM, legacy (#195)

@bbfan1927 you mentioned that we don’t have a scientific sample size and you are correct! We only have a few EDII posters, and that is a tiny tiny sample. Also, we have only a thumbnail sketch of their application. It’s impossible to draw any conclusions imho. Btw, I’m a CSOM alumni (1985) from Long Island. So many kids at BC are from Long Island, NY and MA. I’m assuming, applicants from say, Wyoming can get in with lower stats?

Thanks @evergreen5 for crunching the small sample. Helpful!

Please @LIAlum85 do not assume that accepted students from outside the NE bubble have weaker transcripts/standardized scores. Most of the TX accepted applicants in recent years are also “automatic admits” to UT Austin. In this case, these accepted BC students from Texas posted top 6 - 7% class rankings.

When are regular admissions sent out?

I do think BC was hoping to pick up some Ivy rejects in the ED2 round (as are many schools with ED2, like U Chicago, Vandy, Emory, etc.). I just wonder if they would really get them. I think they are more likely to get Georgetown and Notre Dame deferrals/rejections (ND). Maybe some Cornell and Penn. Or schools with more traditional school spirit? Too bad they couldn’t hold off on ED2 until UNC and UVA released their decisions because maybe they would pick up a lot of those deferrals/rejections.

Regardless, BC is a great school. Congrats to those of you that were accepted/will be accepted! It really has so much to offer!

Sorry Notknot77098, I did not mean to offend anyone. What I meant to say is that when a school is putting together a freshman class, maybe they don’t want too many kids from 1 or 2 geographical areas. So, if you are an applicant that is one of many from the same area, you might get deferred, even though you have very nice stats.

I agree…geographical diversity can be a feather in an applicant’s cap, IMO.

Did anyone else applying RD get an email today about financial aid?

@crazymochacrazymocha,Yes, DD just received the email asking to provide financial info. He is applying RD.

Ok cool. I didn’t think it meant anything but was just making sure

I got an email about financial aid for requested documents but I already sent all of documents by mail so should I send it again?

I was accepted EDII to CSOM with a 3.8 weighted gpa and a 1350. Keep the hope alive!

Got the email but I don’t know my eagle number.

For those at home keeping score, as the small sampling of unofficial accepts come in and strictly on a stat basis, , ED2 appears to give the best chances for reach opportunity…I’m seeing 100 pt deficits in STS’s for some of the most competitive schools here…will this be the norm?

Did everyone get the email that their application is under review?

I got an email today for under review…

Is it too late to submit addition LOR’s?
