Boston College class of 2024 (EDI, EDII, RD) applicants

Received the RD financial aid application and when I try to go on the link that they sent it asks for Eagle ID but I don’t know what mine is and I can’t find it anywhere

@annacf Your Eagle ID should have been emailed to you right after you submitted your application. The email also contained your user ID and password for their Agora Portal. Good luck!

@kittycat1203 It’s on the top of the applicant status page that you get to from the agora portal

Thank you!!

No she has 6 APs plus college Latin, and a Certified EMT Program. (It’s offered through college program). Do you think that improves chances?

Thanks for your response.

I agree that sub B grades can hurt an applicant. With thousands of applications, they may just have certain deal breakers.

@JhonnyWalker which school within BC?

MCAS.

.

@ccgirl296 I’m a BC parent and know quite a few BC students in recent years. This is my 2 cents:

A 1480 SAT w/4.25 W GPA (AP, Honors) is good. Since this is the first ED year for BC. I estimate 1500 or higher will be considered “above average” chance in the RD poll. What’s your D’s SAT2 status?

EMT program is great for CSON major. Many CSON students have some certifications before coming to BC.
150 plus service hours is highly welcome for Jesuit education/value.
3 sport athlete, captain, Regional soccer team, runner up state champs - very impressive.
Swimming instructor for children with disabilities, that’s extra star in my view!

CSON is a small college at BC. (Google Boston College Fact Book for details), as near 40-50% of freshmen enrollment has been filled in ED1/ED2. But BC admission is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get!

Best of luck to your D!

@movebeyond

Thanks so much for your insight. We are waiting on pins and needles.

We will keep our fingers crossed. I’m hoping her essay helps…my middle daughter is a cardiac patient at Boston Children’s and has spent a lot of time inpatient. My applicant wrote her essay on being with the nurses in the CICU and watching them save her sister’s life last year. It was life changing and helped her decide that it was nursing (not Med school) that she wanted. I keep telling her that If they don’t accept her she will find a place and be an incredible nurse. It’s all i can do!

I’m hearing the coronavirus outbreak may lead to a noticeable decline in accepted international students (particularly from Asia) and I’m concerned. Thoughts?

To the extent that any college has a target of internationals, I’d guess – and its only a guess – that they would accept a few more, not less. And the reason for that is the unknown # that can actually obtain a visa, not only due to the virus but other possible travel restrictions. My thoughts is that international yield will be low, so perhaps accept a few more than in prior years.

But again, just a guess.

When do BC regular admissions go out?

Hello all,
I was an ED I deferred… did everyone got an email talking about the approximate decision release date? I didn’t seem to get one though…

I was deferred ED 2 and did not receive the email. Seems as though deferrals did not get one.

It was sent on Feb 10, 2020- perhaps even before ED2 decisions?

Chance me please!! Applied theology major to MCAS
-ACT 33
-GPA 4.0
-APs- 5 overall (4 this year, english lang last year with 5 on AP test)
-a lot of ECs and community service (includes xc captain, sadd president, senior ambassador, every season of xc and track with 9 varsity letters)
-enrolled in 3 week summer program at BC

I applied ED and was deferred but my ACT has since improved (was 31 at the time)

@college3204

You have a great baseline application. Congrats on the hard work.

It’s always impossible to predict without reading an essay and recommendations.

My thought would be that you are being seriously considered and have the talent to succeed there or anywhere.

Received the following in the email on Feb10, "Decisions will be emailed during the week of March 15; the specific date on which we will release decisions will be shared with you via email during the week of March 8, so please check your email at that time. ".

Did anyone receive emails with “exact date and time” the results are going to be posted?
