The poor seniors…what a way to end their last semester. Such a shame!
I feel so bad for the seniors. Senior week at BC is so amazing. I think some other schools are hopeful they will resume a normal schedule and be able to get kids back on campus in April, but BC apparently feels this will NOT happen. So sad. You think they will have graduation? It’s not until late May.
My heart breaks for all the seniors across the country…so sad for them to end this way.
I don’t get why they didn’t just call off for 2 weeks and then wait and see. Holy Cross is doing the same thing. They don’t graduate at HC until late May so they are missing a substantial amount of term. Northeastern has a much earlier term finish - Finals starting mid-April, so their remaining time is so much less.
Let’s hope things settle down and they can come back for a senior week and graduation. It will be one Big party.
But how do you house the students for a week after everything is cleaned out. Just go back to dorm I guess and bring stuff with you. I don’t know but they should do something special.
I also am not sure why they are deciding now to just have them move out but I suppose what @privatebanker is suggesting could work…and would make move out day from the mods run a lot more smoothly…we have been there for that and it would be a lot easier if the kids had less to move out. So maybe they will figure out a way to bring them back for senior week/graduation.
Does anyone know anything Early Decision deferrals’ chance (maybe how many they plan to accept?)
@1030run1030 since this is the first year with ED, I don’t know that there is any data on that. I would think that having applied ED could only help you during the regular round because BC knows they are your first choice. Good luck!

I have a feeling the chaos is why we haven’t received an email yet, just because they are probably dealing with a lot right now. Hopefully we will get the email tomorrow and maybe we will not hear until next Friday which in the grand scheme of things isn’t that bad.
Do they always send an email with the specific date? Decisions are sent by mail for Boston College, so they might not all arrive at the same time.
Decisions are sent by email, not mail. The past few years, during the week prior to the decision date, they sent an email with the decision date, just as they said they would do again this year.
However, you all really need to understand that this is not a normal admission season and potential delays should be anticipated. I don’t know whether the admission office relies on student workers, but keep in mind the abruptness of the unexpected student move-out. If I recall, about 85% of the students live on campus. This is a major campus disruption. Hopefully any delay would not be long.
I saw on BC Admissions twitter account a day or two ago that they were still planning on decisions coming out sometime next week but didn’t address whether they would send the announcement email or not. I’m sure all the schools are scrambling right now, such a hard situation for all.
I called and they said that we should expect an email by the end of the day, but that was about three hours ago so
