@bierbe congratulations on your acceptance! I noticed you mentioned you were also accepted at Cornell. Their decisions aren’t out until next week. Does Cornell have an Early Action option?
DD waitlisted.
Morrissey. 31 ACT. 3.95 GPA. 7 AP classes, rest mostly honors. Indiana. Soccer captain. Decent leadership and other strong ECs.
BC has always had an enormous wait list–likely for yield protection. Their yield has never been strong–around 28%. That’s a lot of kids that say “no thanks.”
Last year they offered 7566 students a seat on the waitlist, 2953 accepted and they offered 273 a seat, about 10% of their class. If you are full pay, you still have shot.
@booksmart. Throw those numbers out the window. Ed 1 ed2 and the current health crisis.
And last year a handful wl spots used and zero the year before. The wl has very little to so with yield.
They may accept more usually because of yield. However this year may be a very active wl and that was strategy to go with Ed rounds.
It’s also a big difference this year with 50 Percent of seats already filled.
Many schools have larger Wl because so many of you are so talented and it is in no way that you aren’t qualified.
The wl says you are and you may get an email of call.

Cornell has ED not EA, or they send “likely” letters to the highest applicants. RD is 3/26
They also stated they were rejected at Clark. Seems off. In at Cornell EA or likely. In at BC.
Carry on.
Congrats to everyone who got accepted! If you didn’t get the news you hoped, don’t let a single college acceptance define your worth! You’ll go on and do amazing things, regardless of what college you go to!

I imagine the waitlist will be more open this year with the coronavirus. Not sure if It’s worth pursuing a spot anymore though. I feel very defeated after being deferred ED1 and now being waitlisted.
@crazymocha it’s understandable you feel defeated after applying ED and then WL. I think there is nothing lost by accepting a spot on the WL. All colleges this spring have lost the ability to roll out the red carpet for accepted students in person, so maybe it could lead to more students being plucked from the WL? You just never know.
Wishing you the best.
Repeating what I said on another thread,
Current senior at BC here (who just got kicked off campus this week). Econ major/pre-med track, happy to answer any questions about BC! The BC subreddit is also relatively active if you want to get any questions answered by BC students.
Congratulation to all those accepted!
