I applied to BC early decision MCAS. I have a 31 ACT score and a 4.01 weighted gpa. I’m taking all IB classes and am an IB diploma candidate. My scores are a little low but my ECs and my essay are very strong. What do you guys think?
@BCgal15yay, Do you have any notable sports credentials? If yes, I do think that BC would still be a stretch for you. However, given the uncertainty with ED1 and ED2, Hey- anything is possible. In an RD environment, BC is a far reach school. In any event, good luck and come back and let us know how you did.
is it the same level of difficulty getting into MCAS or the CSOM at BC or is one easier than the other?
I think the official answer is that they are equally difficult. But I believe CSOM is harder. School of Ed easiest. But I’m really not entirely sure as they don’t post stats by college. Most schools don’t. I think they are looking for fit, which is a good thing.
So is today the EDI release date?
My daughter saw something online from BC saying that today, 12/5, is the day they would announce ED1 acceptances. Good luck to all.
@texassenior20 , CSOM is more difficult to get into than MCAS. However, given fewer female applicants, the finger is on the scale for females. .
@ccgirl296 sounds to me like your daughter has a really great chance and that she will make an amazing nurse! Such a great career choice. I wish one of my kids chose nursing. And I have heard that the BC nursing grads get phenomenal offers. Good luck to her!
Good luck to all of the ED1ers tonight!
@BCgal15yay so hard to say. You sound like a great student and should be proud of your accomplishments. If I had to guess, no worse than a deferral considering your strong essays and recommendations etc.
Please let us know what happens and fingers crossed for you. B

It depends on the rigor or your classes relative to the school and their understanding of where you fit as a percentage of your class.
But 3.8 uw and 1500+ sat is really strong. And there’s a little love for central mass applicants or should be! lol.
Let us know. I think you’re going to have a really good night. Imho.
Let’s hope for the best tonight. I took 8 AP classes and did well on the exams, 3.84 gpa unweighted, 31 ACT, Camp Counselor for free camp for underprivileged children. I attend a small, competitive catholic school on the south side of Chicago. I am a varsity basketball player, Varsity Volleyball player, NHS member, Politics club member, Ambassadors club member, President of Republican Club, math team member, and employee of Saint Bernadette Parish. I am not expecting an acceptance by any means, but do I have a shot?
I applied ED1 as well
Yes of course. You have an excellent profile. However it’s so many factors. Just keep on working hard and enjoying your time in high school.
Is this the main BC thread for decisions for tonight? Or is there a different thread? There’s another BC 2024 thread I’m going to post this same question on. Good luck to everyone who applied ED1!!!
Me too!!! My daughter’s stats are similar to yours and BC is her first choice but I was afraid of the finances. I did the online calculator and that was a rude awakening since I already am dishing out 32k for my son’s tuition. I’m having the same fear as you are…should we have applied ED??? Are you going to do ED II? She applied RD…on my advice
Thank you so much! Best of luck to everyone receiving decisions tonight and to everyone who gets a decision they didn’t want… just keep your head up and know there is the perfect spot waiting for you!
Anybody get anything yet??? nothing yet here for DS…
