My daughter’s now says access denied when earlier it had her info filled out.

Received this message yesterday. Anyone else received this message? Some people mentioned above that they got email from BC to see if they have any other offers from other schools. So this means I am denied and not a prospective admitted student?

That’s the one my daughter received yesterday. Last week she got an email saying if she has enrolled someplace else, she should withdraw her BC application.

Personally I don’t think it means anything — I feel like they would not be so reckless as to send out an early email specifically to admitted applicants before decisions are out. I guess we will just have to wait and see! Not much longer.

D26 was accepted CSOM. 1560, 4.0 UW, 14 AP/DE classes including Calc 3 and AP German. Very good ECs.

Mine was waitlisted, but not surprised. 1540SAT, 4.68GPA, 12AP (all 5s), strong ECs and Recs. Already accepted to UVA, Princeton, UNC-CH - so good options on the table. Congrats to all who are going to BC next year - it’s a great school!

Wow! Those are great options. My daughter is also deciding between BC, ND, UVA, and UNC, but if she had Princeton on the table, she would’ve committed there immediately. Congrats!!

Do you understand how the applications went up by over 5% this year but they accepted .1% more applicants than they did last year? Thanks!

I expect some combination of ED acceptances, yield model, and target class size drove the number of admits so far.

And really, the chart in the article is somewhat misleading regarding the trend in acceptance rate because those aren’t the final acceptance rates. As in previous years, this year’s acceptance rate will likely change.

It will likely increase due to waitlist offers and maybe a select few other random offers going out (recruited athletes, etc.)

Class of 2029 admit rate at this point last year was 12.6%, as in the chart, but the final admit rate was 14% (from the article as well as the fact page Common Data Set & BC Facts - Boston College )

i actually think they accepted more students this year BECAUSE of the higher than typical waitlist use from last year (despite the higher # of applications) so that they don’t have to rely on the waitlist as much as they did last year.
