D25 applying ED1.
3.94UW, 4.4W. She had two A minuses or would be 4.0 UW.
8 AP, 16 Honors, 4 DE.
1450 SAT (not superscored).
National Merit commended.
Lots of extras, 250+ service hours.
Played a sport at school 1 yr and has played competitive club national team 3 yrs.
PT job.
Not Catholic but attends Catholic school out west. Not many students apply from her school, but there are current graduate(s) at BC. She may be the only one applying this year.
School doesn’t rank but she’s in their scholars program.
AC coming to visit school in a few weeks and D has exchanged emails with her. We visited BC a few weeks ago and did campus tour.
This is our first experience with college applications. It’s stressful! Best of luck to everyone who applies!

Forgot to mention Biology/Arts & Sciences.

Follow up: she’s definitely the only one applying ED from her school and no more than 4 are applying at all. Hoping she gets good news in early December!

D25 ED Carroll School

Does anyone know acceptance rate for Carroll v BC?

Good luck all!

Sorry gave no info. Top NE Boarding School. Collegiate Athlete. Solid grades and rigor. Test Optional.

The interwebs indicate BC doesn’t release CSOM-specific info, but I read on Reddit the acceptance rate is about 10% lower than the overall BC rate because it’s the most difficult college to get into. Good luck! Three weeks and counting down.

Hi! Does anyone think that the later Thanksgiving this year (11/28) will cause a delay on the release of ED decisions? I just wasn’t sure if having a break the week before the possible release date would affect anything. :turkey:

I’m hoping someone more knowledgeable will chime in, but my initial reaction is no. Thanksgiving happens every year during the ED process. From what I can see, it matters more when Dec 1 falls during the work week.

My older son is a junior and found out around 5pm on the first Thursday in December which was what had been predicted. Fingers crossed it’s the same this time around.

BC does not use demonstrated interest officially but in our experience it is a big factor. Make sure that your D sends a note or two to the AO. My daughter is class of 28 at BC and she built a very close relationship with AO from school visit, college fair, campus visit and personal email. The AOs are human and like to know the person behind the application.

Best of luck.

T minus 2 weeks!

Thoughts on whether it’s a bad sign if your child has emailed the AO more than once but hasn’t received a reply?
