I have been accepted to both the Boston College Honors program and Haverford college, I was wondering if anybody had any input to help me with my decision. What are the academics like? what is the overall culture at the school? Is the drinking culture at BC make a huge impact on the feel of the school? What are the relations between the honors program and the rest of Boston College?
Thanks.

Have you compared the financials (net cost) to see if one is considerably cheaper than the other? Sometimes that can be an influencing factor.

This is really apples and oranges. Both schools are good, but very very different. So different you can hardly compare them. Haverford is probably stronger academically, but the difference is not so great to be the sole deciding factor.

Haverford is tiny, and has a strong Quaker history and tradition. The honor code is so strong that people won’t even lock their doors.

BC is a medium sized research university where sports are a big deal. It has a strong Catholic. Tradition (although it is Jesuit so liberal by Catholic standards). But most people I know who went to Haverford would not have liked BC, and visa versa.

I suggest attending both accepted student programs. It is unlikely that you will like both equally after that.

do you know anything about how the drinking influences the overall school culture at BC?
