@emra20 I can’t remember where I read this, but about 6,000 kids are offered a spot on the waitlist. According to BC’s website, there’s an active waitlist count of 2,500 and about 50 to 300 students from the waitlist enroll. Here’s more info if you’re interested: https://www.bc.edu/bc-web/admission/sites/wait-list.html
Also, will those who don’t get a spot off the waitlist be notified that they didn’t get off?
@theartofg I believe that in previous years they have sent out emails saying that the WL closed. However, this year they said the WL might be open well into the summer so I’m not sure.
Ah okay thank you!
Does anyone have any tips for how best to get admitted off of the waitlist at this point??
For people that are still on the waitlist, have you guys paid at your back-up school for BC?
Is there anyone who has ‘Email Services’ in Agora portal showing deactivated (in gray)? Not sure if it was deactivated a few days ago already. Just found out. Bad sign???
@olivem that happened to me the other night when I checked the portal really late at night. the next morning it was working again though
@pinksandra0505 I’m going to pay the enrollment fee at another uni today just in case
I had the same thing. Last night it was grey but, today it’s working again.
Interesting…
I would assume that if they gave the 1st wave off waitlist 3 days to commit, a second wave would be after that 3 day period. After tomorrow, they will have closed out registration and know where they stand. Maybe early next week…
May 4th.
Hello all, I have a question… so I just found out yesterday I received an regional athletic award, and I didn’t know if I should email my AO about this… would this be bugging them? Any thoughts?
I don’t think this would be bugging them at all!! It would show that you’re really interested in the school and that would improve your chance I think. You have nothing to lose now so just email them and update them on things that you thing might improve your chance. Best of luck!
I think it would be best to show your sincere interest for the school in your LOCI. BC is looking for people that would for sure attend this fall because I think they’re low on yield rate this year due to COVID-19. It’s honestly just a lottery at this point. If you have something that they need to complete their “perfect” freshman class, they’ll admit you. I got in with a 1220 SAT and the sincere interest I conveyed throughout my LOCI really helped me get off the waitlist. I even emailed my AO and expressed my interest to the school before I got off the WL and she never replied!! But hey look at me, I got off. Best of luck!! You got this!!
Don’t worry about this at all! I put that as well and I got off the WL. Best of luck!!
I think all you can do is submitting the LOCI. After that, just wait patiently and hope that you have what they’re looking for. I submitted my LOCI on 4/21 and also sent my AO an email the same day. She never responded. And on 4/28, I got off the WL! Best of luck!!
Have you gotten your financial aid package yet? I still have not received mine and my efc is also 0. Best of luck! I hope your daughter will get a full ride to BC and we could both attend the school this fall!
I just included things that were not mentioned in my common application. I also specified clubs/organizations/courses I would love to participate at BC and why those attracted me. I also personalized my letter and really tried my best to indicate why I am a good fit for BC and what I will contribute to the school. I would say just be genuine with your LOCI and if BC is your absolute first choice, say it and clearly show it! Best of luck!!!
My guess is that round 2 is going to be on monday
I agree
