Boston Leadership Institute

Any feedback on the programs at the Boston Leadership Institute - would they be equivalent to the Stanford Summer Pre-Collegiate Science Programs?

I’m currently enrolled in this program, and completing the last week of my course. Personally, I got a lot out of my course only because of my teacher. Everyone else taking other courses either hasn’t had their teacher show up yet, or has some random professor that hasn’t the slightest clue of what they’re lecturing about. This camp entails little to no organization. My first week here, there were only 2 counselors for 70 kids. Kids could easily leave campus, and engage in outlandish activities. Most of what was advertised on the website, does not actually happen here. Class is from 9:00 to 3:30, and because we’re sitting in the same room with the same people for an extended amount of time, people quickly begin to doze off or fall asleep. After class ends, the BLI website might make you think that there are a ton of activities available for both day, and residential students, but really you go back to your dorm and sulk, or eat a ton of junk, and watch a movie with with your dorm mates assuming you even like them. The ‘olympic sized’ swimming pool is most definitely not olympic sized, and they hardly let us even go in it. The gym is really nice but, its only open from 7:30-9:30. This is the time when most people are eating dinner, or begin to get ready for bed… So basically no one goes. Honestly, if I wasn’t here with people I know and like, I would’ve dropped out. But that’s just my opinion. Definitely not Stanford Summer Pre-Collegiate equivalent.
