The Logan Express picks up at every terminal - it’s well marked, so you should have no problem finding the pick up. It’s free and comes every 20 minutes. It looks like you should get off at the convention center. Because of where you are going, it’s def a good option. My kids live in the North End and always take Uber or Lyft to and from Logan because it’s the easiest and quickest to that location.
I’ll be arriving noon-ish during the week. I would think that would avoid a morning rush into town and an evening rush out of town. Good to know though (perhaps for the return trip back to the airport).
How far distance are we talking between airport and this downtown area?
My daughter lives in Boston and I just flew out and back with her from Logan for a vacation. The Logan Express Bus is the best option (especially during rush hour). The ride from the airport is free. You should get off at Hynes convention center as the Sheraton is attached to the Hynes. The ride back to the airport costs $3 and you get a skip the TSA line pass. The length of the ride will vary depending upon traffic. We got to Logan in like 20 minutes but coming home hit the worst rush hour traffic and it took closer to an hour. It is called the Logan Express Back Bay and the signs for the bus stops at the airport are labelled in orange. The buses run every twenty minutes and stop at all the terminals.
FYI - they just implemented some new policy at Logan for Uber/Lyft pick ups (this week), and people are still getting used to it.
BTW - I am in that part of Boston very often (as my daughter lives in Back Bay) and can offer you tips if you have some non-work free time.
Just want to add that during rush hour a Lyft or Uber driver will also get stuck in traffic, but you should do better in the express bus as it travels part of the ride in some HOV type lanes that a car can’t be in.
Thank you all and for the offer @kiddie. I’ll have very little free time (we have two evening events) except for maybe a couple of hours one day in the afternoon if something doesn’t get scheduled work wise then!
During peak hours in Boston, an Uber is actually a worse option than the bus or just walking. My daughter and her BF met us for dinner last week and ended up getting out of the Uber and walking because the traffic was so bad.
