Boston-New London hotel

I will be picking up DD next week from school in New London. Flying into Boston, arriving at 1:15AM, renting a car, and driving a bit southward until I get fatigued and stop for the night. Any suggestion of a location and decent hotel just off I-95 along that route?

It’s only a 2 hour drive; why not just crash at an airport hotel and make a fresh start in the morning? Or go just a little big south to South Boston and stay there.

Or zip on down and stay at the Radisson in New London. If this is graduation weekend, check first and make sure they have rooms available.

Conn College??

Try Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun. Not kidding. And they have good food there.

Otherwise, you can stop around Providence.

Try to fly into Providence - Green Airport is actually in Warwick and it’s almost effortless to rent a car and get onto 95 south. A great alternative to Logan. PM me if you would like more info.

If you’re stuck with Logan, you can stop in Rhode Island (all visible from 95, safe and clean) at:

[Crowne Plaza Hotel- Warwick, RI](http://crownehotelwarwick.com)

[SpringHill Suites Providence West Warwick: Spacious studio suites in Providence](<a href=“SpringHill Suites Providence West Warwick: Spacious studio suites in Providence”>SpringHill Suites Providence West Warwick: Spacious studio suites in Providence)

Flying into Green airport in Warwick puts you considerably closer to New London than Boston.

Already committed to the Boston airport. Coming from the west coast, the closest airports with nonstop service are Logan and JFK. By the time I get my bags, take a shuttle, and pick up the rental car, it will be 2 AM. It is hard to gauge if I will be wired or exhausted. South Boston sounds like a reasonable target area. Does anyone know a convenient hotel in that area? Thank you all for your ideas. It is helping me to figure out my plan.

Just looked at Mapquest- are Quincy or Braintree decent places to stop for the night?

Quincy and Braintree are just a stone’s throw from Logan–probably less than 10-12 miles from the airport. If you want to go a little farther, drive to Foxboro; it’s where Gilette Stadium is located (Boston Patriot’s stadium). There are quite a few hotels near the I-95 exit. You’ll be about 30 miles from Logan at that point.

If you are coming for the west coast, that 2 a.m. Will “feel” like 11 p.m. Maybe I missed this…but what day of the week are you driving to New London? If Its a weekday, I would suggest doing Very Happys suggestion. Driving in the mornings on 95 on a weekday…huge rush ghoul headache. Do the drive when you arrive and then sleep in!

ETA…the hotel at Foxwoods is very nice!

Since you’re just doing a school pickup and would want to avoid the route 95 through Providence hell in the morning, I’d just go straight from Logan through Providence and stay in the Warwick/West Warwick area. Lots of hotels (it’s near the airport) and easy to get deals through Priceline. Just me, but I wouldn’t bother to stay at Foxwoods (or Mohegan) as they are a bit out of your way and all you’re doing is sleeping. If you think you’ll be exhausted and not safe to drive, stay at one of the hotels close to Logan, but the thought of traffic in the morning and a large Dunkin would be enough for me to drive to RI.
