I’ve always thought these schools were pretty selective. I’ve seen people with very high stats and decent EC’s get into these schools…and actually choose to go.

But someone on CC told me that Boston University can be my safety - low match college. Although my test scores are good, my GPA is pretty low. (I guess my GPA is OKAY, but I have not-so-great grades, as in almost all B’s in all AP and honors classes) Maybe it’s not exactly a safety school like that person told me, but I still thought I would have a difficult time getting into BU.

Also, I know people with pretty low GPA’s and not great, but decent activities and test scores who got into USC. I’ve seen really smart people choose USC as their first choice, so this was also surprising to me.

So bottom line… I’m wondering how competitive these colleges are actually, TO GET INTO.

also does anyone else know of people with just okay/decent stats (I know stats arent eveything but still…) who got into schools like this?
