Boston University class of 2024 RD

Does anyone else have statement in admissions letter that says ‘‘You have been conditionally admitted to the College of
’’? (For mine it is college of communications)
What does this mean?

D admitted to CAS and KHC (36 act one sitting, sat subject 790 math ii and 790 chem, high gpa, so-so ecs). Got Tuition Exchange 38K/yr, plus 7K. For us, this is the one to beat now I think.

Deadline to accept KHC is the same as accepting admission and financial aid, right?

Son accepted into guaranteed transfer program pro and cons?

D admitted
BUT
0/zip/zilch/nada/nothing FA
so
onward to other options. Accepted to: St Andrew’s and U Glasgow in UK; American U; Declined George Washington; Waiting on Vassar and Wesleyan. So far, St Andrew’s is first choice followed closely by Glasgow.

Congratulations to all admitted and to those declined; Groucho Marx once said “I wouldn’t want to be a member of any club that would have me as a member.”

@momof3co Yes! The initial letter pops up with lots of confetti the first time, but if you go back and check it only is the three letters (admission letter, scholarship info, and the school of admission). I don’t think you can get the confetti screen back after closing it lol. Sad because it was a nice touch.

@richbilly mine just says “You have been admitted to the College of Communication.”

Accepted with $60k scholarship!
CAS
Full IB - 40/45 predicted

Confused between this and UMich right now, although UMich gave hardly any financial aid :frowning:

Accepted into Sargent college but
 that financial aid package though
 definitely cannot afford it!

My daughter just found out that she was admitted! Happy month so far for our daughter.

@BOS-rules St. Andrews is a great school! My cousin went there and he loved it. Its a great town and not too far from Edinburgh.

Congrats to everyone who was accepted!!
Sadly, my friend and I were both denied admission (her sister currently attends BU).
Here are my stats if anyone would like to know:
Hispanic Female
SAT: 1360
WGPA: 4.89 (Top 6%)
10 APS
15 Dual Enrollment
2 Internships (sophomore year technology intern and senior year research intern)
Competitive Dancer for 5 years
Volunteered for 100+ hours at dance studio

Child waitlisted. Applied as an English major.

6/220 at average public HS
3.75 UW
33 on act, 34E, 35R
very few APs because school makes it difficult to fit then in.
Somewhat weak extracurriculars.

Accepted to McGill faculty of arts and faculty of arts and sciences, and at safety schools UNH and UMass Amherst. Waiting for a few others.

My d was just accepted to the school of theater - 4.3 GPA, 32 ACT - and this is an audition-based program so there was also a talent component - no FA but we are going to suck it up and pay because this was her top choice.

I have a question - we went to the school for the audition but we didn’t get a campus tour and now probably the next time we go there will be when we are moving her in - any suggestions for dorms? do all freshmen live in the same one?

Thanks

SMED had over 1500 applicants and they called 78 for interviews on 4 fridays in Jan and Feb. Made 40 offers.

Even though they ask on the app if someone wants to join BU without SMED, they accept very few of such candidates. Most SMED applicants are looking for a combined UG/MD program.

I am sure will have great options when all the dust settles.

Does anyone know when transfer students will hear? It says mid April on the website but I’m wondering if anyone has a specific date

Yes, she was thrilled to get the offer! We have visited twice and it will all come down to $. She has received a scholarship to Glasgow and applied to scholarships at Wesleyan and St Andrew’s (she applied to scholarships at BU as well)

I got into SMED with $18K ‘financial aid’ per year. It does not tell exactly whether it is merit scholarship or loans. Oh well. Need to figure out on to how to convince parents to spend $77K x 7 years.
