it would be interesting to know if they are accepting students off the waitlist by proximity to Boston. Not just MA residents but students from the rest of New England and perhaps NY rather than students from more distant states and internationals. Given the belief that students may not want to travel long distances to college in the fall.

I just got a very surprising call that I got off the waitlist, but I ended up telling them that I am no longer interested in the school while on the call because I already committed elsewhere. I am from the Midwest, so I do not think that they are choosing who comes off the waitlist based off of region. I did not do anything in particular to come off the waitlist.
I received a phone call earlier this morning saying I got off the waitlist. I am from CA and sent a very very short LOCI to my regional admissions officer a while ago.

@Pokamolodoy I actually received a voicemail from the admissions office (area code 617) on Monday, and got an email from the office called Good News from BU that same day. Since I lost my phone for a few days and the email got flagged as spam originally, I didn’t hear any news until now.
Just got a call from BU saying that I was off the waitlist!! I haven’t received an email and the decision letter hasn’t changed. International, CS

@tacticalmom they gave me 3 days to respond. Got email an hour ago asking to contact them if I hadn’t spoken to them. I was expecting to receive an acceptance letter with potential financial aid but haven’t yet.
