no email, just seeing it in the portal under application status checklist

I’m wondering if students would get an email if it’s required? Seems odd that it’s just listed under the portal but no communication asking for it? Maybe it’s there for future waitlists or for deferrals from ED?

In general, it’s incumbent upon the student to stay on top of items requested in their application portal check-lists.

Of course it is. I meant more that it doesn’t seem to be listed as a request or even that it is missing. We are in CA and impacted by the Eaton Canyon fire (school is in Pasadena) so grades will be taking a longer time to get to admissions offices (S25 doesn’t even have his fall grades yet). So I’m just wondering if this is not a specific request for grades in his portal.

The senior year grades request has been listed in the portal well before the CA fires, I believe it’s been there since my child had access to their portal. Our fall semester grades won’t be available until February.

If it’s not listed as a request in your child’s portal then you must be good to go

I wasn’t saying that the grades request had anything to do with the fires - just that it delays the grades for my child. It is listed but just below the other application items. It doesn’t say it’s being requested. It’s very confusing. We will submit them as soon as we can here in Pasadena.

When does RD come out? Also, do they offer scholarships to RD kids unlike USC?

Last year it was late March (I think I remember seeing March 23). I don’t know about their scholarships.

Yes, BU considers RD applicants for scholarships, but they had a deadline of Dec 1 for most of their merit scholarships.

My son’s portal still says that senior year grades are needed, and they are not showing up on the received list. His guidance counselor sent them twice - the first time was three weeks ago. Is anyone else seeing the same? Does that ever move to “received?”

S25 says received for senior grades.

My C25’s senior grades were updated as received in their BU portal the same day as every other college received them, no delay

Nothing official, sometime in middle to late March. Usually later.

Someone in the Discord posted this screenshot of an email supposedly sent to counselors, confirming Saturday March 22. Last year and the year before were also Saturdays, so this is most likely accurate.
