Is BU known for being generous with merit $$?
I’ve read several threads on another site and several students reported getting very heavy need based aid. I’m not sure about merit aid…I know athletics and performing arts give some merit aid but not sure how generous it is.
BU is not known for granting merit awards. There are a few merit scholarships, but they have limited spots and are VERY competitive.

This was my experience as a student and confirmed during an admission info session with my S25. Need based aid at BU is easier to get if you qualify.
Portal down for BU right now. Was checking to see if any financial aid forms were missing (we got notices from other schools that we had to submit additional documents).
Ours isn’t down. Was it just a brief thing?
Yes. Has anything changed in anyone’s portals now that they’re back up
Nope.
it was down for a couple of hours on our end. Will check again in a bit
down again
Mine is still down
Maybe? I looked at last year’s thread and a lot of people were doing portal astrology that seemed to work.
No blank checkmark yet btw, a checkmark seems to mean acceptance.
Can you explain? Blank check mark where?
In past years, in the “received” section of the application status, a checkmark with no description would pop up, and that seemed to indicate an acceptance. It’s probably a bit too early for that this year though.
I saw a post last year of someone with confetti in their code that was rejected …
anyone else see anything when inspecting the code that could hint at an admissions decision?
Does anyone know the time the decisions will be out on the 22nd?
i have that but everyone probably does so that’s why most people who got in last year had it lol
I read somewhere that BU would release decisions at 8 am on the 22nd. I’ve read the 22nd multiple places but the 8 am part only once. I have no idea if that’s true though.
Yeah it’s always been early morning.
