Boston University ED Class of 2023

Yeah because “our records indicate” without ED means that you are in the deferred pool (aka rd pool). Think about it. When we all got the link to go into the portals for the first time, everyone’s original message was “our records indicate…ED”. When BU sends the RD pool their link, it should say the same message for the RD kids WITHOUT the words ED. It makes sense that “our records indicate” w/o the words ED indicates deferral.

this speculation applies to the previous years tho. I am not sure if this speculation applies to this year. and I am also pretty sure they will make all their decisions by tomorrow. Last year, I think everyones messages stayed the same past 12/5… don’t quote me on that tho.

@orbitally. Your post #206 is the smartest thing I’ve read, and I believe you are correct. There is such a small amount of posters on this thread, and those that are on here have what it takes to get in. The problem is BU wont accept 100% …so some will be defered, and sad to say, some will be denied. Do not believe its only you’re accepted or defered just because you applied ED1. Maybe the 100 or so posters here fall in the category of accepted or defered, and the ones that get denied never joined…who knows.

@MomofBUdreamer Thank you! I agree with you as well, and I even said myself a few pages back that applicants like the ones on this thread are definitely the type to be super qualified for the school to begin with.
At this point, all we can do is hope for the best!

@scmjmp that usually means you got deferred/rejected but they could have changed the system

Once again to all, I went through this process last year. I promise I am not messing with you, I genuinely want to help you all. It is possible that BU admissions changed the messages this year but it could also still apply. If you have the “Our records indicate…” message regardless of whether you have “ED” in it or not, it means you are getting deffered/rejected. The “thank you message” means you got in. AGAIN, I do not work with admissions but as an ED accepted student from last year, this appeared to be true.

Hi, another BU undergrad student that went through this last year. I also EDed into BU. I have one message for you guys: Yall better hope the message changes to “Thank you” lol

i just checked this morning and my message chnaged from “our decords indicate” with “early decision” in it to thank you!!!

they also asked me to verify my address

When did you apply by? @nikib215

Still no change here, same msg with -

"We have received your application to the College of Engineering as an Early Decision candidate for the September 2019 semester. If you would like to change the college or school of application, or if you would like to discuss your application, please call BU Admissions at 617-353-2300 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time to speak with an admissions staff member.

Our records indicate that your application for admission is complete…"

Boston University is doing a live show on facebook now

@mandyp1233 I submitted everything in mid-October and my portal says, “Your application for financial aid is complete.” On the bottom of the portal is says that they received my FAFSA and CSS profile. You should probably email them.

Lol, what was their live about?
