Boston University?

Hi everyone! Please take a moment to let me know what you think my chances of admission are through ED. I actually applied this past year RD and was given guaranteed transfer but I am taking a gap year anyway (hence why I didn’t apply ED the first time). I think that this may help me due to my persistance. I really do not want to be in CGS but I also do not want admissions to think I do not want to go to BU. I do, but for what I want to study all four years.s I am very curious on that end of it.

Essays: Top notch and unique
Recommendations: Heartfelt and go beyond my solid work but expound upon what makes me a unique student as well as my ECs and character

Thank you and let me know if you have any questions!

What are you doing during your gap year? That will help…or hurt your chances.

I am working in India as an English teaching assistant and learning Hindi and Marathi (both languages are deemed critical by the State Department and are extremely useful for my area of study). I am with Global Citizen Year and I received a scholarship to do so. I will be living with a host family as well. A balance of both volunteer work and academics.

Are you a full pay?

No, I need financial aid. They assured me though that they give the same amount to ED students if not better because it is first come first serve for finaid.

You can most definitely get in given the ECs provided and the reasoning behind your gap year. You ACT score may potentially keep you on the lower end of the application group, but I feel like with strong essays and an emphasis on the outside work you’ve done, you will stick out to admissions staff.
