Boston University?

I have a question. I always thought (and I'm sure a lot of average people also agree) that BU was extremely elite and ranked up there with the big boys. However, I am seriously shocked by it's #53 (or somewhere around there) ranking! I was under the impression that it was at least in the top 25.

Is something wrong with the rankings (meaning the people who make them have something against BU), or is this school really just "pretty good", but not elite?

Also, does anyone know generally what kind of GPA they accept for transfer students? Is it around a 3.5?

Thanks everyone...

I was never of the impression that it was elite. It has a 52% acceptance rate and this statistic can be found at <a href="">;/a>. So its not that hard to get in. I cannot comment though on how they handle transfers because I know nothing about how that school specifically handles it.

Also in my post about Berkeley you said "You are in" is there any reason in in particular to why your so sure?

I never considered it elite at all

They ahve a 52% acceptrance rate which is no where neer elite

Total applicants: 29,356
Total acceptances: 15,191
Total freshman enrollment: 3,961

Now boston college is a little bit harder to get into with a 31% aceeptacene rate

Total applicants: 22,424
Total acceptances: 6,897
Total freshman enrollment: 2,208

To me niether is elite

Here is a list of if you mean elite schools being very hard to get into then these are the hardest in decending order

Curtis Institute of Music (PA) 3%
Juilliard School (NY) 7%
United States Coast Guard Acad. (CT)* 7%
Harvard University (MA) 10%
Princeton University (NJ) 10%
United States Military Academy (NY)* 10%
United States Naval Academy (MD)* 10%
Columbia University (NY) 11%
Yale University (CT) 11%
Cooper Union (NY) 12%
Stanford University (CA) 13%
College of the Ozarks (MO) 14%
United States Air Force Acad. (CO)* 15%
Livingstone College (NC) 15%
Brown University (RI) 16%
Massachusetts Inst. of Technology

You have a 3.9 man! What do you think?

I would say you are pretty much in at every school in the country.

Im just probbly paranoid. I wouldn't go far as to say every school in the country.

it's not very hard to get into BU. i got accepted there after i graduated high school - and i was a slacker.
